Just add look-warm water to make your own masa (dough).
Masa harina (dough flour) is a naturally gluten free finely ground flour made from nixtamalized corn (it does not contain any other grains).
Nixtamalization is a process where dried corn kernels are soaked and cooked in water and naturally occurring lime which releases the nutrients from the corn and improves digestibility.
This unique style of flour is an essential ingredient for traditional Mexican and Central American dishes like tortillas, tamales, cornchips, sopes/picaditas, arepas etc... Masa harina provides the distinctive authentic flavour and texture, setting it apart from regular corn flour or cornmeal.
A cup of masa harina makes approximately 6 medium tortillas.
Ingredients: Certified Non-GMO Mexican white corn, naturally occurring hydrated lime, that's it!
