Ready to taste the difference of real masa de maíz? We make this dough the traditional way (nixtamalization) using the best Yellow and/or White corn from our Kiwi farmers right here in Aotearoa. This is the simple, honest staple food that has powered Mexico for thousands of years!
What can you make? Everything! Roll it, press it, fill it—from soft tortillas and quesadillas to tamales and sopes.
Quick Tip: 1kg of this masa will press into around 16–20 standard home-pressed tortillas (approx. 800g).
How to Get It:

Pick Up (from our market stalls in South Christchurch or Lyttelton): Order by Friday at 9 am.

Shipping: We ship nationwide on Mondays only. Expect arrival Tuesday or Wednesday. Order by Friday 9am.
Keep refrigerated as soon as you receive it. To use it you will need to knead it with a bit of water until soft and malleable so you can't see cracking when pressed (needs more water) or becomes sticky (too much water).

Yellow Corn
Yellow corn has a slightly stronger flavour than white corn, likely due to the presence of beta-carotene, the compound that gives yellow corn its color and is converted into Vitamin A by the body.
Yellow corn also contains slightly more lutein, an antioxidant.
